Donor Assistant – South West (Part‑time)

About the role
Join Pet Blood Bank UK as a Donor Assistant, supporting life‑saving blood collection sessions for dogs across the South‑West. This part‑time role involves working on weekends at various venues, helping donors and their owners have a smooth and positive experience.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Veterinary Surgeon and Nurse with health checks, blood collection and post‑donation care.
- Hold donors safely during the donation process and monitor them throughout.
- Run blood tests, complete paperwork and reset the donation room for the next donor.
- Build rapport with donors and owners, ensuring a friendly and supportive environment.
- Maintain good relationships with host venues and communicate with regional staff.
- Attend events to promote the charity and recruit new donors or volunteers.
Required profile
- Excellent communication and customer‑care skills.
- Team‑player with a love for working with dogs.
- Organised, proactive and available on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Ideal for students, newly qualified veterinary nurses or anyone with animal‑care experience.
