Doors Technical Engineer – Technical Support

About the role

KONE is seeking a Doors Technical Engineer to join its Global Technical Help Desk team in Nottingham. You will act as the go‑to expert for complex technical issues on industrial and pedestrian doors, providing both remote and on‑site support across the UK while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and on‑site technical support to Doors engineers, diagnosing root causes and delivering solutions.
• Log cases in the Technical Helpdesk tool and route them to the appropriate expert when necessary.
• Deliver training to Doors engineers during site visits and scheduled sessions, supporting local training centres.
• Assess maintainability of equipment before tendering for maintenance contracts.
• Create and manage knowledge‑base articles and propose sales solutions to improve reliability, comfort and safety.
• Identify root causes proactively and initiate corrective actions in line with KONE Door Business processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, stopping installations or operations when hazards are detected.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of pedestrian and industrial doors, gates and barriers.
• Excellent health and safety knowledge, ADSA and DHF qualified, CSCS certified.
• Strong customer service skills and collaborative team attitude.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.
• Proficient IT skills.
