Drama Teacher – Cambridge

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking a dynamic Drama Teacher to join a secondary school in Cambridge. You will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop confidence, teamwork and a love for performance through engaging drama lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical drama sessions covering script analysis, physical theatre, improvisation and stagecraft.
• Take full ownership of the drama curriculum, including lesson preparation, assessment and GCSE performance preparation.
• Create an inclusive studio environment that encourages creative expression and respectful collaboration.
• Support extra‑curricular activities such as school plays, drama clubs and showcase events.
• Maintain safety standards for performance spaces and technical equipment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Proven experience teaching Drama in a UK secondary school.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate pupils of all abilities.
• Effective classroom and studio management using positive reinforcement.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already holds one on the Update Service).
