About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a part‑time Design & Technology (DT) Technician to work in its Sefton workshop and CAD suite. The role starts as soon as possible and involves three days a week supporting students and staff in a safe, productive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain a purposeful, safe, orderly and productive working environment in the DT workshop and CAD suite.
- Maintain specialist equipment, checking quality and safety, undertaking repairs or modifications and reporting any issues.
- Maintain CAM machines such as 3D printers and laser cutters, including overseeing student projects.
- Adopt and adapt risk assessments in collaboration with the teacher to ensure safety.
- Prepare requisitions for new stock and supplies as directed.
- Cut and prepare materials for demonstrations following the teacher’s schemes of work.
- Demonstrate and assist others in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment and materials.
Required profile
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety or related areas.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (child‑barred list) registered with the online update service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Two professional references covering at least 24 months of work experience.
Required skills
- 3D printing operation.
- Laser cutting operation.
- CAD software usage.
- General equipment maintenance.
