DT Technician – Secondary School (Burnley)

About the role

We are seeking a Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support secondary school lessons in Burnley. The role involves preparing, maintaining and managing equipment used in DT classes, and providing assistance to teachers and pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and check DT equipment before lessons.
• Store and organise equipment after use.
• Support teaching staff and students during lessons.
• Maintain inventory, check stock and organise storage.
• Repair, maintain and modify equipment as required.
• Ensure health and safety standards and a clean working environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar DT technician role.
• Recent experience working in a school or comparable setting.
• Hard‑working, flexible and able to use initiative.
• Ability to build good relationships with children and adults.
• Commitment to safeguarding and health & safety practices.
• Availability for part‑time or full‑time work and ability to travel locally.
