Duty Manager

About the role

As a Duty Manager at Asda you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of a busy supermarket, ensuring a safe, legal and enjoyable environment for customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute trading activity across all departments, meeting availability and KPI targets.
• Lead the shrink agenda, driving waste reduction and markdown compliance.
• Coach and develop the food hall leadership team and wider staff to maintain high shop‑floor standards.
• Deliver promotional activity on time and in line with the store’s selling agenda.
• Support the Store Manager in creating a great shopping experience and a positive workplace.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager in a grocery retail environment.
• Strong operational knowledge of both food and non‑food departments.
• Proven ability to improve product availability, reduce waste and manage shrink.
• Experience developing teams, managing change and handling complex employee‑relations cases.
• Excellent organisational skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
