Duty Operations Coordinator 24/7

About the role

The Duty Operations Coordinator works 24/7 within Central Control to ensure Yorkshire Water delivers reliable water and wastewater services. The role operates on a rotating 12‑hour or 24‑hour shift pattern, covering every day of the year.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage operational activities across the water and waste networks.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate resources to minimise service disruption.
• Maintain shift rosters and ensure compliance with the 365‑day coverage schedule.
• Support the Remote Asset Planner progression plan and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate status updates to senior management and external stakeholders as required.

Required profile

• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (12 hr or 24 hr) on a 365‑day schedule.
• Full‑time availability (average 37 hours per week, annualised 1,929 hours).
• Experience in operational coordination within a utility or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
