E-learning Systems Developer

About the role

The University is seeking an E‑learning Systems Developer to support teaching and learning across its digital platforms. You will work within the Information Services Group, translating user needs into robust web applications that enhance the student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and prioritise user requirements from academic staff and students.
• Estimate development effort and manage projects from planning through to delivery.
• Design, develop and maintain web‑based e‑learning tools using PHP 8+ or NextJS.
• Ensure solutions comply with accessibility, equality and GDPR standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to test, deploy and document applications.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering web applications in an academic or similar environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines and adapt to flexible working patterns.

Required skills

• PHP 8+ (or NextJS) for web development.
• SQL for database interaction.
• Automated testing frameworks.
