About the role
We are seeking a dedicated EAL Support Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Camden. The role starts in September and focuses on helping students who speak English as an Additional Language access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored language support to secondary‑aged EAL learners.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and deliver targeted interventions.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of development.
- Offer one‑to‑one and small‑group sessions both in and out of the classroom.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive culture and promote multilingual awareness.
Required profile
- Qualified with a recognised TESOL, TEFL or CELTA (or equivalent) certification.
- Experience working with secondary‑school students in an EAL context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting multilingual learners in a mainstream setting.
