About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic EAL Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Bolton. You will support pupils whose first language is not English, helping them access the curriculum across a range of subjects and develop confidence in spoken and written English.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for EAL learners.
  • Assist pupils with vocabulary development and language acquisition.
  • Facilitate classroom integration and ensure learners can follow lessons.
  • Deliver tailored academic support to meet individual needs.

Required profile

  • Prior experience working in schools or other educational settings (essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Patient, adaptable and genuinely committed to supporting student learning.
  • Comfortable working with pupils from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
