Early Career Business Studies Teacher (Secondary)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Business Studies to join our secondary school near Braintree. This full‑time permanent position starts in September and offers a supportive environment for a newly qualified teacher to develop their practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies to Key Stage 4 pupils, with potential to deliver Key Stage 5 lessons.
• Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons aligned to the curriculum.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, recording outcomes in line with school policies.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (or trainee) holding QTS or on track to achieve it.
• Passion for Business Studies and a commitment to inspiring young people.
• High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Willingness to learn, reflect and develop within a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Business Studies curriculum for KS4 (and KS5 where applicable).
