Early Career Teacher – Secondary Schools (Hemel Hempstead)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECT) to join secondary schools in Hemel Hempstead. This is a September start position offering a supportive environment where you can develop your teaching practice and build confidence in your subject specialism.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Support student progress across Key Stages 3 and 4, with KS5 opportunities where available.
• Collaborate closely with experienced teachers and mentors.
• Contribute to a positive, well‑managed learning environment.
• Fully engage with the school’s ECT induction programme.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS completion.
• Specialism in a secondary subject area (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL).
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Positive, proactive and reliable attitude.

Required skills

• Effective lesson planning and delivery.
• Ability to assess and track student progress.
• Collaboration with mentors and senior staff.
• Adaptability to diverse classroom needs.
