Early Years Assistant – Nursery (Eltham, London)

About the role

We are seeking an Early Years Assistant to join our Eltham Green Nursery in Eltham, London. You will work as part of a dedicated team caring for babies and children up to the age of five, supporting their development through interactive play, activities and reading.

Key responsibilities

• Look after babies and children up to age 5 in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Engage children through interactive play, activities and reading to stimulate curiosity.
• Support colleagues in tracking each child’s progress toward key developmental milestones.
• Build positive relationships with parents and maintain clear communication.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and complete required pre‑employment checks.

Required profile

• Previous experience with children is ideal but not essential.
• Passion for making learning fun and engaging.
• Ability to develop trust and strong partnerships with colleagues and parents.
• Effective communication techniques for both children and adults.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
