Early Years Educator / Montessori Teacher (Level 3) – Balham

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Early Years Educator / Montessori Teacher to join our welcoming preschool in Balham from September. You will work with a small group of key children, delivering child‑led learning that follows both the Montessori curriculum and the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Key Person for an assigned group of children.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences, outings and activities.
• Support each child’s development in line with EYFS and Montessori principles.
• Complete observations, assessments and maintain detailed learning journeys.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate with specialist teachers and the wider teaching team.

Required profile

• Experience working within an Early Years setting.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development.
• Professional appearance and commitment to high standards.
• Desirable: Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, Montessori Diploma or relevant experience, experience as a Key Person, knowledge of child‑led learning approaches.

• Competitive salary £27,000‑£32,000 per annum.
• Full‑time permanent role with a set weekly rota (3 days 8:00‑16:30, 2 days 8:30‑18:30).
