Early Years Nursery Nurse (SEN) – Full‑time, Barnt Green

About the role

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join an inclusive Nursery School in Rubery, Birmingham. The role focuses on supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) within a play‑based, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, child‑centred care for children aged 2‑4 years, adapting activities to meet a range of developmental and communication needs.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to provide personalised support for children with emerging or diagnosed SEN.
• Observe and record children’s progress, helping to identify emerging needs and inform planning.
• Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Valid Paediatric First Aid certification.
• Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting, preferably supporting children with SEN.
• Good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and well‑being.
