Early Years Practitioner (EYFS)

About the role

Reddam House Berkshire, a flagship UK school of the Reddam House International group set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, has vacancies in its Early Learning School for children aged 3 months to 4 years. The role covers care, play activities and support for EYFS assessment. The school also offers lunch cover (up to £15,080) and a part-time qualified practitioner role (0.4 FTE); start dates are September 2026 or January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Model excellent early years practice and keep up to date with current initiatives and legislation
• Support children's learning with high expectations and a secure understanding of child development
• Gather assessment information and use it to plan teaching and learning, identifying children who are able or falling behind
• Work with parents and colleagues to plan age-appropriate programmes using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
• Write accurate reports on children's progress using the Early Years Outcomes document
• Meet regularly with the leadership team for supervision and training, and follow confidentiality procedures
• Use Tapestry and other software systems to support provision

Required profile

• Recognised Early Years teaching qualification (Level 3)
• Experience working with children aged 3 months to 4 years in an Early Learning School
• Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including EYFS, Reggio Emilia or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and strong classroom management, organisation and planning skills
• Child-centred, reflective and adaptable approach

Required skills

• Good ICT skills
• Knowledge of EYFS and early years frameworks

What we offer

• Salary of £28,652 to £32,045 for qualified practitioners, depending on experience and qualifications
• Training to obtain Early Years qualifications within the apprenticeship levy scheme
