Early Years Room Leader – Nursery (Tonbridge)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Educator to take on the role of Room Leader in our Tonbridge nursery. You will provide day‑to‑day leadership for an allocated room, supporting staff and ensuring high standards of care, learning and safety for the children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor staff within the room, supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in daily operations and maintaining a positive, inclusive environment.
• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate EYFS activities, monitor children’s development, and produce high‑quality observations linked to Development Matters and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
• Act as the key person for an allocated group of children, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and inclusion, and communicating any concerns to the management team.
• Maintain accurate records, complete developmental observations on the nursery’s online platform, and proof‑read children’s reports and progress information.

Required profile

• Early Years NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a nursery or early years setting with strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead, motivate and support colleagues.
