Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Houghton Regis

About the role
This temporary full‑time position supports children in Nursery and Reception who have Special Educational Needs. You will help them develop confidence, communication and a love of learning in a nurturing early years environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support children with SEN in Nursery and Reception classes.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions.
- Promote speech, language, social and emotional development through play‑based activities.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
- Create a safe, positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Experience working with children in an Early Years or SEN setting (school, nursery or childcare).
- Patient, calm and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Proactive, reliable and willing to engage in all aspects of school life.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
