Early Years Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)

About the role

Join a caring SEN primary school in Tower Hamlets as an Early Years Teaching Assistant supporting children with autism. You will help create a safe, inclusive environment where each child can develop confidence, communication and social skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised support throughout the school day, adapting activities to individual needs.
• Facilitate communication, emotional regulation and friendship building.
• Assist with personal care routines, including dignity‑focused toilet training support.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and families to ensure consistency.

Required profile

• Passion for working with children, especially those on the autism spectrum.
• Calm, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to follow EHCPs and behaviour support strategies.
• Relevant qualification is helpful but not essential.
