Early Years Teaching Assistant (EYFS)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two‑form entry primary school in Mortlake, Richmond Upon Thames. You will work within the EYFS framework, supporting children’s learning and development through a blend of classroom‑based and play‑led activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom‑based learning and play‑led activities for EYFS pupils.
• Provide phonics support and small‑group interventions.
• Offer one‑to‑one assistance to support individual pupil progress.
• Assist with personal, social and emotional development through positive interactions.
• Support children with additional needs, including SEND where required.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 3 Early Years, Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Previous experience in a nursery, preschool, reception class or primary EYFS setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training and a DBS check (enhanced) with online update service.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or equivalent.

What we offer

• Full‑time, term‑time position (8:15 am – 3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday).
• Daily rate of £100‑£115, dependent on experience.
