Early Years Teaching Assistant – EYFS Support Role

About the role

This position offers the chance to work in a welcoming primary school supporting children at the start of their educational journey. You will work alongside an experienced class teacher, helping to create a stimulating, play‑based environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom.
• Work with individuals and small groups during adult‑led activities.
• Encourage communication, language and social development.
• Assist with phonics, early maths and creative activities.
• Prepare engaging learning resources.
• Provide personal care for children when required.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience with young children in an EYFS, nursery or primary setting.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the EYFS Framework (desirable).
