Early Years Teaching Assistant – Flexible Full/Part Time

About the role
Academics is seeking enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistants to support children across partnership nurseries and mainstream primary schools in Cheshire. The role offers flexible full‑time or part‑time hours, ideal for those wanting varied experience, a balanced lifestyle, or a return to work.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging EYFS‑aligned lessons and activities.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment and uphold high standards of care.
- Support early literacy, numeracy, communication and personal development.
- Promote independence, positive behaviour and social interaction.
- Travel to assigned sites and be available on short notice for supply cover.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2.
- Previous experience with young children in a UK nursery or primary setting.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
- Willingness to hold or obtain Paediatric First Aid certification.
