Early Years Teaching Assistant – Nursery/Reception

About the role

We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a Good‑rated two‑form entry primary school in Chelmsford. The role starts in September and involves supporting children in the Nursery and Reception age groups, delivering high‑quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care and education to children in an Early Years class.
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities that promote learning and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child’s unique needs.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
• Follow all relevant policies, procedures and safeguarding regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in Early Years education (preferred).
• Passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
