About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the reception class of a welcoming primary school in East London, starting September 2026. The role supports children at a crucial stage of development, with a particular focus on language and communication skills.
Key responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with the day‑to‑day running of the reception classroom.
- Deliver small‑group and one‑to‑one support, especially in speech, language and communication development.
- Assist with phonics sessions and early literacy activities.
- Help create a warm, stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupils’ progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
Required profile
- Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (school or nursery).
- Strong understanding of early language development.
- A patient, caring and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
