Early Years Teaching Assistant – Reception (Haringey)

About the role
We are looking for a nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming one‑form entry primary school in Haringey. You will support the Reception class from September 2026, helping young learners settle into school life and thrive under the EYFS framework.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering play‑based, EYFS‑aligned learning activities.
- Prepare and organise resources for whole‑class and small‑group sessions.
- Support children’s social, emotional and communication development.
- Work with individual pupils to reinforce learning and provide targeted help.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Observe and contribute to the assessment of children’s progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and model good social interactions.
- Support children with additional needs as required.
Required profile
- Experience in an Early Years or Reception setting.
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
- Proactive, able to use initiative and work well within a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.
