Ecologist – Brighton, South East England

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Ecologist to join a well‑established independent ecological consultancy in Brighton. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of development and conservation projects across the South East, delivering high‑quality ecological advice from site appraisal to project completion.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ecological, protected species and habitat surveys on a variety of sites.
• Prepare technical reports and assessments in line with UK wildlife legislation.
• Support project teams throughout the lifecycle of assignments, from initial appraisal to final delivery.
• Contribute to biodiversity and conservation initiatives within the consultancy.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Experience carrying out ecological surveys and producing technical reports.
• Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and survey methodologies.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to field and office work.
