Ecologist – Design-Led Landscape Practice

About the role

Join a well‑established, design‑led landscape practice in Bedford as an Ecologist. You will work alongside landscape architects, urban designers and environmental specialists on a diverse portfolio of projects, from early feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake protected species and habitat surveys.
• Produce high‑quality ecological assessments and reports.
• Advise on planning applications and biodiversity net gain.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Support the integration of ecological considerations into landscape design proposals.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in a consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Membership of (or working towards) a relevant professional body such as CIEEM.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
