Ecologist – Field and Desk Role in Winchester

About the role

This full‑time Ecologist position is based in Winchester with a forward‑thinking ecological consultancy. The role blends field surveys with office‑based reporting, offering exposure to a variety of public and private sector projects.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake protected‑species surveys across diverse sites.
• Carry out botanical and habitat surveys.
• Produce high‑quality ecological reports, including PEAs, PRAs, EIAs and EcIAs.
• Liaise with clients, project managers and key stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing fee proposals and project documentation.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for the natural environment and sustainability.
• Motivation to develop a career in ecological consultancy.
• Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively in the office.

Required skills

• Protected species survey techniques.
• Botanical and habitat survey methods.
