About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist to join an established and growing environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering practical ecological services across a diverse range of projects. The role involves a mix of fieldwork and consultancy responsibilities, supporting development and land management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct protected species surveys
• Perform habitat assessments
• Carry out ecological appraisals
• Prepare technical reports
• Support clients throughout the planning process

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
• Previous ecological consultancy experience (desirable)
• Experience undertaking ecological surveys and producing technical reports
• Good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning processes
• Full UK driving licence
• Full right to work in the UK
• Residence in or near Preston or willingness to commute
