Economic Development Consultant – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an Economic Development Consultant to join a leading planning‑led multidisciplinary consultancy in the heart of Manchester. The role will involve delivering economic analysis, supporting development strategies and working closely with internal planning and design teams to shape sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic impact assessments and feasibility studies for a variety of public and private sector projects.
• Develop and present evidence‑based recommendations to clients, stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Collaborate with planning, transport and real‑estate teams to integrate economic insights into project proposals.
• Prepare reports, data visualisations and briefing documents that meet professional standards.
• Support business development activities by contributing to proposals and client pitches.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of experience in economic development, consultancy or a related field.
• Working towards or achieved chartered status (e.g., MIED).
• Experience in the private sector is desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
