Editorial Process Manager – Heliyon

About the role

We are seeking an Editorial Process Manager for Heliyon, an all‑science, open‑access Cell Press journal. Reporting to a Deputy Editorial Team Leader, you will coordinate the flow of new and revised manuscripts from submission through publication while supporting the quality, integrity and efficiency of the editorial process.

Key responsibilities

• Assess newly submitted manuscripts for ethical, scientific compliance and completeness.
• Review to‑be‑accepted manuscripts for adherence to publishing and ethical standards.
• Spot‑check external academic editors' performance and provide structured feedback.
• Support technical queries from external editors.
• Systematically chase pending tasks and manage backlog.
• Assist in the editorial process as the journal evolves.

Required profile

• Hold a BSc (or equivalent) in life, medical, social or physical sciences.
• Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Adaptable, able to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills within an international team.
• Capable of working collaboratively or independently without continuous supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
