Education Academy Fellow – TB & Respiratory Medicine

About the role

The Education Academy within Barts Health is recruiting an Education Academy Fellow to support the TB & Respiratory Medicine team. Working 0.8 WTE (32 hours across four days), the role is split equally between clinical service and educational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver educational opportunities for undergraduate medical students, including simulation‑based training, clinical skills sessions, lectures, teaching clinics and bedside teaching.
• Support the delivery of simulation‑based training across multiple Barts Health sites and contribute to the wider IMT simulation and clinical skills programme.
• Collaborate with other education fellows to coordinate activities across the four simulation and essential clinical skills centres.
• Participate in the Education Forum and engage in a structured professional development programme.

Required profile

• Medical graduate/doctor with an interest in education, equivalent to ST1‑ST3 level.
• Ability to balance clinical duties with educational responsibilities (50/50 split).
• Willingness to work across several hospital sites in East London.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, including optional PG Certificate in Education and ILM3 leadership course.

Required skills

• Experience delivering simulation‑based training and clinical teaching.
• Knowledge of TB and respiratory medicine is desirable.
• Familiarity with simulation equipment and clinical skills teaching facilities.
