Education and Professional Standards Manager

About the role

This position leads a small team responsible for professional standards, compliance and case management within a respected regulatory organisation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape education pathways, licensing frameworks and stakeholder relationships across the sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team handling compliance and case management activities.
• Review and sign off casework, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Manage escalated queries and complex cases to deliver fair outcomes.
• Support development and delivery of qualification, licensing and professional standards frameworks.
• Design strategies to increase awareness, accessibility and uptake of professional qualifications.
• Build and maintain relationships with training providers, employers and education partners.
• Identify opportunities to expand learning provision and launch new initiatives.
• Monitor performance data and use insights for continuous improvement.
• Review and enhance operational processes for efficient service delivery.
• Represent the organisation at industry events and deputise for senior leadership when required.

Required profile

• Experience in professional standards, education, regulation, membership or accreditation.
• Proven people‑management experience overseeing operational or case‑based work.
• Background in reviewing, assessing or quality‑assuring complex casework or compliance activities.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of autonomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• High levels of organisation, attention to detail and professional judgement.
