Education Referrals & Admissions Coordinator

About the role

The Education Referrals & Admissions Coordinator will be the primary point of contact between our Alternative Provision Trust, local authorities, mainstream schools and specialist education panels. This full‑time, permanent role ensures vulnerable young people are matched with appropriate educational programmes efficiently and sensitively.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with Lancashire County Council inclusion teams, SENDCo’s and headteachers.
• Manage the end‑to‑end referral pipeline, reviewing documentation, risk assessments and pupil histories.
• Lead meetings, respond to placement enquiries by phone and email, and guide families and professionals through admissions criteria.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of student places across academy sites, track trends and ensure data compliance with service level agreements.
• Represent the Trust at local authority panel meetings, presenting how our specialised provision meets pupil needs.

Required profile

• Experience in school admissions, SEND administration, alternative provision or local authority education services.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information diplomatically.
• Strong organisational ability to prioritise a heavy caseload and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional, empathetic approach to working with families, schools and commissioning bodies.
