Education Solicitor (Partner)

About the role
This is a senior partnership opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor with a passion for the education sector. You will lead strategic and corporate matters for independent schools, education groups and charities, shaping the future direction of a well‑established national practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead acquisitions, disposals and mergers involving independent schools and education businesses.
- Manage reorganisations, collaborations and strategic projects to strengthen educational institutions.
- Advise charities and not‑for‑profit education organisations on corporate restructuring and transformation.
- Work closely with employment, property, regulatory and dispute resolution teams to deliver seamless client service.
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with senior decision‑makers, acting as a trusted adviser.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, enhancing the firm’s profile in the education sector.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, supporting their technical and professional development.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience, with a track record ready for partnership.
- Experience operating at Partner or Legal Director level, or demonstrable readiness for such a role.
- Interest in or experience advising education, charity or not‑for‑profit organisations.
- Proven ability to lead complex transactions and manage sophisticated client relationships.
- Strong business‑development mindset with confidence to build networks and generate new work.
- Ability to inspire, mentor and develop colleagues while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
