Educational Visits Adviser (Remote – Midlands)

About the role

The Longtown Outdoor Learning Trust is seeking an Educational Visits Adviser to manage its Educational Visits Advisory Service. Working remotely from the Midlands with occasional travel, you will support schools and authorities in delivering safe, compliant outdoor learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Trust’s Educational Visits Advisory Service.
• Support local authorities, multi‑academy trusts and schools to keep visit policies current and compliant.
• Provide guidance, training and advice to educational establishments.
• Deliver AAOLEV‑accredited programmes such as EVC training, re‑validation, emergency management and visit leader training.
• Use online systems to review visit plans, give feedback, maintain competence records and monitor compliance.
• Coordinate the Trust’s response to visit emergencies, liaising with authorities and emergency planning teams.

Required profile

• Background in teaching and learning within an educational setting.
• Experience managing health and safety for educational visits.
• Proven ability to lead outdoor activities in remote environments.
• Extensive knowledge of health‑and‑safety legislation and guidance for school visits.
• Experience delivering training to diverse audiences.
• Relevant qualifications in teaching, health & safety, and outdoor leadership.
• Strong communication, organisational and ICT skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and respond to emergencies.
• Ability to work independently and provide prompt guidance.

What we offer

• Salary range £45,782 – £51,526 pro‑rated per annum.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with potential for permanent role.
• 22 hours per week, remote working with periodic travel across the UK.
