EHC Coordinator – Temporary (3 months) – Barking

About the role

Our client in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated EHC Coordinator to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This temporary position runs initially for three months and offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of service users.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process for individuals aged 0‑25.
• Ensure timely delivery of EHC Plans, working collaboratively with children, families, schools and professionals.
• Manage a caseload, securing appropriate support, resources and placements.
• Facilitate multi‑agency meetings and prepare written briefs for EHC panels.
• Support annual review processes and attend key meetings to advocate for service users.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice 2015.
• Experience working with children and families in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to equality and anti‑discriminatory practice.
