EHCP Mentor – Part‑time Support for Young People

About the role

We are seeking an EHCP Mentor to provide one‑to‑one support to young people across Southampton and surrounding areas. The role focuses on improving wellbeing, confidence and independence through personalised activities and guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with each young person.
• Support development of confidence, self‑esteem and social skills.
• Encourage participation in hobbies, community activities and new experiences.
• Provide emotional support in a safe environment.
• Promote independence and essential life‑skills.
• Adapt sessions to meet individual goals and needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a UK educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in the UK.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Professional references available.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver tailored activities.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
