Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Wastewater Projects

About the role

Kier is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join its Severn Trent Framework team in Sheffield. You will work alongside the Commissioning Manager to deliver wastewater and sludge‑treatment projects, ensuring successful hand‑over from construction to operation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test electrical power and control systems, including motors, inverter drives, flow meters and instrumentation.
• Carry out functional testing and wet commissioning of pumps, blowers and compressors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, producing detailed commissioning reports and marked‑up as‑built drawings.
• Ensure all activities comply with Electrical Site Safety Rules and health‑and‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 qualification and ECS (JIB) Gold Card.
• Experience commissioning water MEICA projects and knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Qualified to perform Authorised Person (LV) duties.
• Strong technical focus, attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving attitude.
