Electrical Design Engineer – Wastewater Treatment Projects

About the role

Our client, an environmental engineering specialist, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop control panels and electrical schematics for wastewater treatment projects. You will work on both bespoke and standard designs, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design bespoke and standard low‑voltage motor control panels and electrical installation schematics for wastewater treatment equipment.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, 2D layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate electrical systems into new machinery.
• Support panel assembly during build and testing phases, and document design revisions.
• Participate in design change notices (DCNs) and design reviews.
• Assist commissioning teams to achieve successful Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

Required profile

• Solid understanding of low‑voltage motor control panel design.
• Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
• Experience with machine safety and functional safety standards, e.g., ISO 13849.
• Formal engineering qualification.
• Practical approach to delivering cost‑effective solutions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use an internal ERP system after training.

• 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00/8:30 am – 4:00/4:30 pm.
