Electrical Engineer – Aerospace, Yeovil

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join an aerospace project in Yeovil. You will support the complete electronics design lifecycle, from concept through production and in‑service support, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document electronic requirements, design plans and specifications.
• Design analogue and digital circuits, develop PCB layouts and complete manufacturing drawing packs.
• Create verification and test documentation for certification and production.
• Participate in design reviews and communicate technical content to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with quality processes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers for new product introduction, including PCB build, assembly, test and system integration.
• Provide expert technical support for manufacturing issues and in‑service investigations.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of electronics design experience in aerospace or another highly regulated sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Analogue circuit design.
• Digital circuit design, including low‑power digital design.
• Low‑frequency analogue interface design.
• Mentor Graphics (or other ECAD tools).
• Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.
• EMC design and qualification knowledge.
• PCB layout and manufacturing drawing preparation.

What we offer

• Competitive rate of £72‑£100 per hour, dependent on experience.
• Standard core hours with some flexibility (09:00‑16:00 Mon‑Thu, 09:00‑12:00 Fri).
• Hybrid working model – 3 days on‑site, 2 days remote.
