Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a high‑profile Hospital Programme in Berkshire. The role bridges design and operations, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review electrical designs, specifications, technical submissions and consultant proposals.
• Assess designs from operational, maintenance, compliance and lifecycle perspectives.
• Manage and respond to technical Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Identify operational risks and opportunities within proposed designs.
• Support operational readiness, transition planning and future service transformation.
• Facilitate workshops and engagement sessions with operational stakeholders.
• Produce technical reports, design reviews and option appraisals.
• Support long‑term asset management, sustainability and lifecycle planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate operational requirements into the programme.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (degree level or equivalent).
• Knowledge of the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards it.
• Significant experience in healthcare estates, facilities management or complex engineering environments.
• Proven experience reviewing electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Understanding of LV distribution, emergency power, generators and UPS infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
