Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Edinburgh manufacturing site, supporting a highly automated food production environment. You will help ensure our iconic biscuit brands are produced safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while working on a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve performance and reliability of electrical and automation equipment in a high‑volume bakery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across a diverse range of systems and production machinery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment efficiency and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver safe, quality‑driven production standards.
• Participate in shift work, alternating 12‑hour day and night shifts, averaging 42 hours per week.

Required profile

• Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification, preferably with an apprenticeship.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial setting.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning.

• Full‑time permanent role with a salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per year.
