Electrical Engineer – Static Sites (Canterbury)

About the role

Venn Group, on behalf of a large healthcare organisation in Kent, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Estates and Facilities team. The role will focus on static sites in Ashford, Canterbury or Margate, ensuring critical electrical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of electrical systems and plant.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on LV distribution systems, emergency lighting, BMS controls and associated infrastructure.
• Support statutory compliance programmes and ensure all work meets relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Assist with electrical installations, upgrades and minor refurbishment projects.
• Work closely with Estates Managers and engineering colleagues to deliver high‑quality maintenance service.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.

Required profile

• City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent (BTEC) and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification.
• Experience in a large, complex maintenance environment such as healthcare, education, commercial or public sector estates.
• Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical compliance requirements and industry best practice.
