Electrical Engineer – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Architectural and Building Solutions team in Liverpool. You will lead Electrical and Instrumentation, Control & Automation (EICA) design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, guiding concepts through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EICA design and delivery across water and wastewater schemes from concept to commissioning.
• Interpret client requirements, P&IDs, SLDs and loop diagrams to produce compliant, cost‑effective solutions.
• Produce technical documentation such as Functional Design Specifications, control philosophies and equipment specifications.
• Specify LV electrical equipment, MCCs, drives and power distribution systems.
• Carry out cable sizing, earthing, and installation design using tools like Amtech.
• Define control systems, PLC/SCADA integration and telemetry architectures.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical and process engineers and ensure SHE compliance.
• Undertake site visits and surveys as required.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer status (IET) or working towards chartership.
• Proven experience in water, wastewater or process‑industry projects.
• Strong competence in Electrical & ICA design for infrastructure.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve complex problems.
