Electrical Estimator – Commercial Projects

About the role

DL M&E Building Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its Commercial Team in Bolton. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will prepare accurate and competitive tenders for design‑and‑build commercial projects ranging from £100,000 to £15 million.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Obtain, analyse and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Attend site surveys, pre‑tender meetings and client briefings.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and contribute to cost optimisation.
• Liaise with project managers and the wider commercial team.
• Maintain estimating records and tender documentation using estimating software.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the building services sector.
• Experience pricing commercial design‑and‑build projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services installations.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines.
• HNC/Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering is advantageous; strong industry experience also considered.
• Full UK driving licence desirable for occasional travel.
