Electrical Installation Assessor – Apprenticeship Support

About the role

We are looking for a fully qualified electrician to join a leading North East college as an Electrical Installation Assessor. You will move off the tools and into education, supporting apprentices through workplace visits, assessments and progress meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 40‑45 electrical apprentices across domestic, commercial, industrial and renewable sectors.
• Conduct workplace reviews approximately every 12 weeks and provide remote support where needed.
• Coordinate progress meetings with apprentices, employers and college staff.
• Use digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams and electronic learning systems for reporting and administration.
• Travel to employer sites and claim mileage allowance for site visits.

Required profile

• Fully qualified electrician with a Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent Gold Card.
• Hold a current 18th Edition certification.
• Experience in 2391 Inspection & Testing, Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charging, AV or micro‑renewables is highly beneficial.
• Strong industry experience across a range of electrical environments.
• Motivation to develop a career in education and obtain assessor qualifications.
