Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Commercial Building

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established facilities management organisation in Central London. You will be responsible for maintaining and testing electrical systems across a commercial building, ensuring safety, compliance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled inspections of electrical distribution boards and circuit breakers.
• Respond to reactive calls for power failures and lighting faults.
• Perform monthly and annual emergency lighting compliance tests.
• Conduct weekly fire alarm testing and support system servicing.
• Maintain electrical supply to AHUs, FCUs and water pumps.
• Close out remedial actions following EICR inspections.
• Complete Portable Appliance Testing for landlord and tenant areas.
• Update digital and physical site logbooks for statutory audits.
• Work under Permit to Work systems and adhere to RAMS procedures.
• Monitor UPS systems and standby generators for critical power backup.
• Use BMS interfaces to identify and troubleshoot electrical inefficiencies.
• Act as an Authorized Person for LV switching operations when required.
• Supervise and escort specialist sub‑contractors on‑site.
• Manage work orders through CAFM software such as Concept or FSI GO.
• Communicate with building tenants regarding planned shutdowns or repairs.
• Recommend energy‑saving upgrades, including LED lighting retrofits.
• Assist fabric and mechanical teams with general maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• C&G Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification.
• Experience working in a commercial facilities management environment.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.
• Ability to operate safely under Permit to Work and RAMS frameworks.
