Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Commercial Building

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established FM service provider in Whitehall, London. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a commercial building, ensuring reliable electrical services and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out lighting installation, fault‑finding and lamp replacement.
• Perform emergency lighting tests and maintain control panels.
• Replace ballasts and monitor BMS systems (hot & cold).
• Execute all aspects of M&E/fabric maintenance and keep log books up to date.
• Handle basic plumbing tasks such as unblocking toilets.
• Maintain pumps, motors, chillers and pressurisation units.
• Ensure compliance documentation and logbooks are current.
• Identify and report faults proactively, escalating health & safety issues as required.
• Communicate service levels and issues with client staff and site management.
• Escort specialist subcontractors and remain flexible to site attendance needs.

Required profile

• Electrically qualified with City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3.
• Holding a City & Guilds 18th Edition certificate (proof required).
• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
• Multi‑skilled and able to work client‑facing.
• Good communication skills.
