Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a leading international food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team at a key manufacturing site in London. The role involves maintaining the electrical integrity of production equipment, ensuring safety, reliability and peak performance in a highly automated FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment across the facility.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on machinery, conveyors, motors, drives, control panels and automated equipment.
• Respond quickly to production breakdowns, minimise downtime and identify root causes.
• Support PLC‑controlled production equipment, perform fault finding and basic diagnostics.
• Work with variable speed drives, sensors, relays, inverters and electrical control systems.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new equipment.
• Record all maintenance activities in the site’s CMMS.
• Collaborate with Production, Operations and Quality teams to maximise equipment performance.
• Ensure work complies with Health & Safety, Food Safety and electrical compliance standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, energy efficiency and reducing unplanned downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work safely and follow Health & Safety, Food Safety and electrical compliance standards.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for diagnosing electrical faults.
• Experience working with production teams and cross‑functional collaboration.
